stream from usb?

Will this core 2 duo (2006) macbook allow video stream (using chrome or other browser) coming from the macbook via its USB port to our HDMI port on our HDTV? Or is the mini dvi the only way? Please also verify that no audio will come w/the stream, and that we will need to hook up ext. speakers to the macbook for good volume/quality. Thank you.
